About This Software VirtualHere allows you to use the XBox One Wireless Controller, steering wheels, microphone, headphones, flight sticks, PS3 controllers, bluetooth adapters, and many other USB devices directly on your Steam Link!Click here for FAQVirtualHere improves the compatibility of most gaming controllers because it transmits the actual USB signal between the Steam Link and the remote pc. The remote PC thinks the gaming controller is local to it, whereas really its plugged into your Steam Link. VirtualHere uses the Steam Link network connection as a USB cable and you can share up to 3 devices at a time with VirtualHere 1075eedd30 Title: VirtualHere For Steam LinkGenre: UtilitiesDeveloper:VirtualHere Pty. A flaming scam, like I think it actually, seriously might be. Steam Link was always my envisionment of the cadillac of Steam gaming (at least any kind that would ever be affordable to me), and now I've finally got the set-up I thought would be a dream and it can't even run the most basic♥♥♥♥♥♥ Desperate enough to shell out even more cash to hopefully make it work a little better? Here, let them make that so much worse for you. So. So much worse. Ever since this software was installed (and we were playing games for a bit directly before so the correlation was obvious), my Steam Link can't enter handle basic streaming from my laptop with VirtualHere running without crashing completely, becoming unresponsive, and needing to be unplugged. And all attempts made to connect USB devices of different kinds produce no connectivity with the laptop. In short, consider playing your Steam Link with anything but a measley 3 STEAM controllers (and for ♥♥♥♥'s sake, 3?? Why not the very, very standard 4? Did you have a fourth friend you guys hated as kids or something?) potentially impossible. You ruined my night, Valve. I'm so disappointed.. I've bought this program nearly a week ago despite all the bad reviews. This program works well with all my peripherals connected to my Steam Link, namely an unbranded keyboard, a Razer Naga and a Thrustmaster Y-300CPX gaming headset. They all, and the headset and the mic in particular, definitely works each and every time I boot my Link.Of course it's unforgivable that this service isn't offered by Valve out of the box. But I can't stress enough that this program delivers its promise.. It sort of works... but too trouble some for trying to set up. Not worth the hassle for me. If your desperate and dont want to spend the money on a Xbox one S controller or steam controller then buy this. For the money tho i think its a complete waste. Too pricey!. Didn't work for me - refund requested. Wanted to play Planetside 2 over Steam Link using my XB1 controller (plugged in via USB on the Steam Link) *and* the XB1 headset (mic and earpiece). On PC, I can have game audio through my speakers, chat audio through the earpiece, and of course chat record through the mic - I want to be able to have the same setup through Steam Link.First off, there's a little hidden step in the VirtualHere FAQ for getting the XB1 controller functioning at all over Steam Link wired USB (after enabling controller USB sharing in the "root" Steam Link settings and then streaming) - you have to push the XBox controller button (illuminated "X" button in the center of the controller). The Steam Link will "hang" for a few seconds while the computer gremlins do their thing, and then the controller will function. After that, the Steam Link ambient and interface audio played through the XB1 headset earpiece (although that's not what I wanted, but that's more a fault on Steam Link for not currently having an option for telling it where you want audio to go), so there was a connection there. In game, the audio played through my sound system as desired, and in the voice settings, the XB1 headset mic and earpiece were both detected and selected for their respective desired functions. Unfortunately, they didn't actually work. Doing a test record (in-game feature) produced nothing. I switched the voice output to the speakers to make sure it wasn't just a conflict with the earpice, and still nothing. In hindsight, I did *not* attempt to send the game audio through the earpiece, however, so there's a chance it was *just* a conflict with the mic. In fact, I did go into the Steam Link voice settings, and tried to do a test record there (with the headset mic selected), and that didn't work either... I did try testing with the mic mute button enabled and disabled just to be sure - no difference either way.Final note: In my testing, I also updated my XB1 controller through my XB1 to ensure it wasn't a firmware issue with the controller.I'll keep an eye out for future updates, though. Really hoping this stuff gets added to the Steam Link by default soon (as are we all).... how do i get a refund this♥♥♥♥♥♥dosent work. This software doesn't even pretend to work most of the time. Awaiting my refund.. After 38 minutes trying to get this to work I asked for a refund. Tried several different work arounds but still no luck. If you're able to get it to work or lucky enough that it worked right away that's great. For me it wasnt able to locate the steam link. After mapping it to the link manually it was still unable to install the drivers. From reading forums and help sections it sounds like its a windows driver issue but I am unable to find any driver problems at the moment. Even norton was set to not block Virtual here and bonjour. I gave up. Fixed BSOD in win7 with multiple xbox controlers: Some xbox controllers have identical serial numbers. This caused a BSOD in windows 7 (or earlier windows). this is now fixed. Updated VirtualHere windows client: Update the VirtualHere windows client to version 3.8.1 which fixes a startup crash on some win10 machines. Updated VirtualHere USB Client to 4.0.6: This provides further stability improvements. Updated VirtualHere Client to 3.8.7: I managed to reproduce a BSOD when disconnecting an xbox one wireless controller, so this update should fix this. Fixed Client crash in windows 64: Some customers reported a the client sometimes crashed on startup in win64. This should be fixed now
